What is Nyrups Naturhotell, and what makes it unique?

Nyrups Naturhotell is a glamping experience set in the forest, where you stay in your own wool hut and live a simple camp life close to nature. There’s no electricity and no road all the way to the site, which creates a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The experience is built around togetherness, sustainability, and living simply – but comfortably – in nature.

What does glamping at Nyrups Naturhotell mean?

Glamping at Nyrups Naturhotell means active outdoor living with a high level of comfort. You’ll stay in a heated cabin with real beds and cook your meals over an open fire. All equipment and ingredients are provided on site, so you’ll only need to bring clothing. The experience combines nature, independence, and a sense of security. What does the accommodation at Nyrups Naturhotell involve?

You stay in your own wool cabin (yurt), always with your own party. We never share cabins between guests who do not know each other. The cabins have 90 cm beds with mattress, duvet, pillow, and sheets, as well as simple furnishings, kerosene lighting, drinking water, and some heating. They are dry and adapted for STAYING IN THE BEECH FOREST all year round.

What’s included when I book as a private guest?

Your stay includes your own hut, bed linen, duvets and pillows, plus ingredients for a two-course dinner and breakfast. If you stay two nights or more, lunch and access to our bathhouse, Verdandi, are also included. You can add optional extras for a little treat – such as a cheese board or bike hire.

What’s included when booking as a group or company?

We tailor the experience to suit your group’s needs. The base always includes accommodation, food, and equipment, combined with active camp life. Groups can book day experiences or overnight stays and add meetings or activities.

Can I shape my own experience?

Yes, we’re happy to help tailor your stay. The foundation, though, is camp life: cooking your own meals over the fire and being fairly self-sufficient on site. Check-in, Check-out and Your Stay

When is check-in, and how does it work?

Check-in is between 2 pm and 4 pm. When you arrive, you’ll receive a personal introduction, so you feel confident getting started with your hut and cooking. Groups can book additional support if needed.

When is check-out, and how does it work?

Check-out is at 11 am. You tidy up in the communal hut, Älvan. You’re welcome to strip your bed linen, but it’s not required. After that, you simply head off.

What should I pack?

Bring clothes in a rucksack, your toiletries, and any medication. All equipment for cooking, sleeping, and your stay is provided.

Is there electricity?

No, there’s no electricity on site. We use paraffin lamps, open fires, and paraffin heaters. Feel free to bring a power bank if you’d like to charge your phone.

Food, Drink and Dietary Requirements

Is breakfast included?

Yes. Breakfast ingredients are included with all overnight stays. You cook it yourself over the fire, with options such as eggs, porridge, pancakes, bread, dairy products, and fruit.

Is there coffee?

Yes. Coffee is provided, and you brew it yourself over the fire. There is a grinder and different types of coffee pots available.

What is the ingredient basket?

The ingredient basket contains everything you need for two-course dinners, designed for cooking over an open fire. The food is thoughtfully prepared but simple enough to cook – even if you’re not used to outdoor cooking. Menus can be adapted for groups.

Are the recipes easy to follow?

You’ll receive clear instructions and helpful tips, but the recipes aren’t overly detailed. The aim is relaxed and creative cooking over the fire. Key steps are explained during your introduction and in the written instructions.

Is lunch included?

Yes, if you stay two nights or more. Lunch is often suitable to take with you on a walk, and we have camp stoves you can borrow.

Is there an outdoor kitchen and cooking equipment?

Yes. There are outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and all the equipment you need for cooking and dining. You don’t need to bring anything.

Is there a fridge?

Yes, there’s a shared gas-powered fridge. It’s mainly used for ingredients, but guests can store things like a bottle of wine if there’s space.

Is there drinking water?

Yes. Drinking water is available both in the huts and in the communal hut.

How does washing up work?

Hot water is available at the washing-up station, heated on a wood-burning stove. Guests help each other with washing up and keeping the fire going.

Is wine or beer served?

We don’t serve alcohol. Non-alcoholic drinks are included, and you’re welcome to bring your own. We’re happy to suggest sustainable options.

Can food be adapted for allergies or dietary requirements?

Yes, we can adapt meals for allergies and dietary preferences – just let us know when booking.

Are there vegetarian options?

Yes. We offer vegetarian menus based on seasonal local produce.

Are there vegan options?

Yes. Vegan menus can be arranged and are based on local, seasonal ingredients, so they may differ slightly from what you’re used to. We don’t use processed substitutes.

Is there a children’s menu?

We don’t have a specific children’s menu, but we adapt meals to suit the group. Children are very welcome to join in the cooking and often eat well when they’re involved around the fire.

Hygiene, Toilets and our Bathhouse with Sauna

How do you manage hygiene and health safety?

There are several handwashing stations with soap, water and hand sanitiser. We clean after every guest, and toilets and the bathhouse are checked daily.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, there are two composting toilets. Urination takes place in nature according to our guidelines, as part of our sustainability work.

What makes the bathhouse and sauna special?

Our bathhouse, Verdandi, is inspired by the Nordic tradition of “löga” – an ancient way of washing in Scandinavia. Water is heated in a traditional cauldron, and guests wash with spruce soap and warm water from buckets before enjoying the wood-fired sauna overlooking the forest. At the back, there’s a cold bucket shower for cooling off.

Nature, Wildlife and Safety

How do you work with safety?

All huts have smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Fire safety equipment, first aid, and a defibrillator are available in all huts and at the outdoor kitchens. Our safety work is based on thorough risk assessments.

Are there wild boar in the area?

Yes, but they tend to avoid the Naturhotell during the season. Encounters are very rare.

Can you see elk (moose)?

Elk live in the area but are rarely seen. You might spot tracks from time to time.

Are there mice?

Yes, there are mice in the forest. We use traps in the huts, and indoor encounters are uncommon.

Are there dangerous animals?

No, there are no dangerous predators in the area. Ticks are the main risk to be aware of.

Are there mosquitoes, midges, or ticks?

Yes, but usually in limited numbers. Mosquito and tick repellent is available on site. Long sleeves and trousers are helpful, and a hat can be useful too. If you’re particularly sensitive, you may wish to avoid booking in the second half of May and June.

How do natural light and sounds affect the stay?

You follow the rhythm of nature – daylight and natural sounds. Many guests find it deeply calming and grounding.

Children, Dogs and Accessibility

Are children welcome?

Yes, children are very welcome. It’s a wonderful place for all ages, especially if parents are prepared and involve the kids in camp life.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome in two selected huts. Dogs must be kept on a lead in shared areas.

What about accessibility?

The Naturhotell is set in the forest, with uneven ground and changes in level. Get in touch and we’ll explain the possibilities and limitations based on your needs.

Companies, Meetings and Groups

Is Nyrups Naturhotell a good place for groups and meetings?

Yes, Nyrups Naturhotell is a GLAMPING IN SKÅNE and a great place for groups and meetings. The entire experience is built around community and sharing the tasks of camp life. For groups, we tailor and adapt the stay so that you have time for work or activities. Since we do not have electricity, meetings need to be prepared in slightly different ways, and we are happy to help you with both program planning and activities.

Do you offer team building and activities?

Yes. The entire setting encourages teamwork, and guided outdoor cooking is often used as a team-building activity. We offer themed sessions, ingredient foraging combined with cooking, and collaborate with partners who provide activities such as tree climbing, yoga and forest bathing. We can also arrange more focused team-building sessions.

Can we book meetings and conferences?

Yes. Nyrups Naturhotell is ideal for groups of 8–24 people if staying overnight. For day trips or evening events without overnight stays, we can host groups of up to around 30 people. We also collaborate with other accommodation providers and partners and are happy to create a tailored proposal for larger groups.

How do you find Nyrups Naturhotell?

You’ll receive a map before arrival, which must be followed. GPS is unreliable in the area. Please print the map in advance so you can follow it easily.

How far is the walk?

It’s about a 1 km walk from the car park. Alternative walking routes are available if travelling by public transport. If you have special needs, a shorter distance can sometimes be arranged.

Can I get there by bus or train?

Yes. Travel to Höör by train. From there, you can take a bus towards Frostavallen – check the Skånetrafiken app for details. We’ll send instructions and a map to help you find your way.

Where is the nearest place to charge an electric vehicle?

There are several charging points in Höör – at the station, at the Preem petrol station, and at Hardys near the junction of road 23 and road 13.
